Our New Apartment

This year, over Memorial Day weekend, Jon and I moved off campus to our new apartment. Right after we moved in I took pictures excited to post them for you all. However, Jon left for Alaska and took the camera and pictures with him. Now that he is back and things here have settled down, I have a chance to share our new place with you.

Kicking Off Another Bible Study

This past Sunday, June 13, 2010, Jon and I kicked off our summer Bible study! I mentioned in March that we were leading the “Fireproof Your Marriage” Bible study. “Fireproof Your Marriage” was a six week Bible study and as the study got closer and closer to the end many of the couples began to ask us if we would consider leading another study.

In no time at all Jon and I decided to move forward and lead another Bible study. Deciding to lead the study might have been easy, but what study we should lead took a lot of prayer. We spent lots of time in Lifeway and online looking for the perfect study for our group. Finally, the Lord lead Jon to chose Putting on the Armor: Equipped and Deployed for Spiritual Warfare by, Chuck Lawless. It’s perfect!



We are so excited to see how God works through this study to change the lives of each one of us! If you think of it, please pray for us and our group.

Moving Sale

Last summer Jon and I had a Garage Sale. This year I am helping my friend, Anna, and her husband Stephen at their moving sale.

We've Moved!

You heard right, after 3 years and 5 months we are no longer living in LeTourneau Married Student housing. It is strange. You see this is the only home that Jon and I have ever known. We got married in December 2006 and moved to Texas two days after Christmas. When we arrived in Longview and did not know where we were going to live, but God provided. This is where we grew and became our own family unit. We have had our share of ups and downs, but we have worked things out and made it through. It is sad to leave such a good home behind, but we are excited to begin a new chapter of our lives.

The last few weeks were bittersweet as we packed and moved everything to our new apartment. I often found myself thinking back over the last several years and all that has happened. The big move was this past Saturday. Jon and I decided that Memorial Day weekend was the perfect time for us to move. Our plan was to move Friday and Saturday get checked out and then have time to recover on Monday. For the most part everything went according to plan. We were so blessed by people who were willing to help us move. After we had gotten everything moved Jon looked at me and said, “We could have never done this alone.” He was so right, we couldn’t have done this alone.

Now comes the fun task of unpacking and getting settled into a new place. I'll try to post pictures of our new place soon.
