I have glasses now!!

It has been such a good day. It started out with Jon and I taking part in the Texas primary and voting!! I love being apart of the political process in this country.

Voting alone would have made this a wonderful day however it did not stop there. Jon and I went to go pick up my glasses!! You can call me four-eyes all you want I simply don't care, because I can see. I can read signs, see far distances, and I can see just how dry my hands are. It is going to take some getting used to and I think I have a headache, but that is fine with me. I get really dizzy if I move my head too fast. But I know that my eyes will adjust soon and I can continue to see things as clearly as I do know. Who knew that the world around me looked this good!?

Love Ya!

P.S. My glasses are purple with little flowers on them.

Some Much Needed Encouragement

This last week has been full of some much needed encouragement for both Jon and I. Last Thursday we received not one, but two phone calls from people we miss and love!! It is like God knew that we needed to talk to both of them. We miss them and it was good to catch up with them.

Saturday night, I, Jen went to Russell and Ginger's to have hot pot with some friends. Jon was a work and it was so nice to not come home and simply be by myself. It was sad that Jon could not come too, but it was good for me to hang-out with and meet Dylan & Ellie (another couple that live in married student housing).

Then on Sunday we decided to go to Macedonia Baptist Church with our friends Russell & Ginger. Jon and I agree that this is the friendliest church that we have been too since we have come to Texas. We are planning on going back next week and attending a Sunday school class for young married couples who do not have children (which would be us!!) We are excited to already know several couples from this church. Russell & Ginger; Dylan & Ellie; and Thomas & Christy all live in LeTourneau married student housing and attend Macedonia Baptist which is exciting!!

Other then that Jon is busy with mid-terms and really looking forward to spending time with his family March 11th-15th!!

We love and miss you all!! Just trying to keep you in the loop : ) !

February Update 2008

Happy Birthday Mom!!

I want to apologize to all of you that we have not written in almost a month.

To be honest we are good, but it has been a long month. Jon has had a lot of tests this month with mid-terms this week and next. His classes are more and more challenging and demanding of his time and he is trying to balance his studies with work.

We were unable to spend Valentine's Day together, because Jon had to work that evening. However this past Monday we went to eat at a Japanese restaurant called ShoGun. It was the kind of restaurant where you sit at a table with 6 other strangers and have your food cooked right in front of you. It was a fun experience and the food was good too!! After that we went to the movies, which we have not done since January, and went and saw "Jumper". It was nice to get out and spend time together without any school or work to do.

I (Jen) am still looking for a full-time job, but I had decided to wait until after we come back from California to really begin looking again. I have also been hanging out with my friend Ginger a lot more which is really exciting. I have been praying that I would find someone to be a good friend to me and I think Ginger is it! We watched American Idol together this week and I baby-sat her wonderful children twice this week!

We are going to visit Jon's family in Los Angeles on March 11th and we will be there until the 15th. We have not been able to see them since January 2007. We can't wait to spend time with them.

Other then that please be praying for my family there are a lot of things going on and Jon and I just need wisdom as to what God wants us to do.
