Pregnancy Highlights: 31 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:  31 weeks 3 days

Size of Baby Newsham: Our baby is as big as a head of lettuce or 19 in, 3.9 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yes!

Gender: Girl

Name: Olivia Jane

Getting Ready: My first baby shower is TOMORROW!! I am so excited and cannot wait to get together with my Weight Watchers coworkers to celebrate Olivia!! I am so blessed to be able to work with the most amazing women at Weight Watchers. I am so thankful for their willingness to bless Jon, Olivia, and me during this time! Don't worry I will take lots of pictures and put them up next week.

Movement: I'm beginning to think that Olivia is A LOT like her Daddy, because she moves around all the time. I know I've been saying this for weeks, but I am so thankful to be able to feel her move. My goal is to capture her movement on video before she is born. If I have time it correctly, I will post it for all of you to see and enjoy.

Sleep: It's been in the high 90's - low 100's all week long, which has made it harder for me to sleep, because it is so warm in our apartment. The heat does not bother me any other time of day except for when I'm trying to sleep.

What I Miss: I only have 9 weeks left until my due date and so far I have not missed too much! I really enjoy being pregnant and am enjoying this time of my life! I have friends and acquaintances who would love to be pregnant. For whatever reason these couples cannot get pregnant. The last thing I want to do is complain about my pregnancy when I know that there are so many who would kill to be in my position. Please keep these people in your prayers and that God would work in their lives to give them children of their own.

Best Moment of the Week: The best moment this past week came on Tuesday evening. It had been a long day and I was not in a very good mood. However, I arrived at Weight Watchers praying that God would change my attitude. To my surprise, one of our Tuesday night members, Alba brought me a baby gift for Olivia!! I was overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness as she handed me the gift. I told Alba how thankful I was for the present and just hugged her tight.

When I opened the present I found small hangers and the most beautiful pink blanket with an elephant on it!! God used this gift to remind me once again that He is taking care of us and I have nothing to worry about! I can't wait to wrap Olivia up in this blanket and tell her this story about how much she was loved even before she was born!!

Food Cravings: I said earlier that it is starting to get very hot in Texas. As a result, I have not been craving anything very heavy. I want fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, cereal and milk, ice cream, and summer salads. I have not wanted to eat anything that requires that I turn on my oven.

Symptoms: I've still got all my normal pregnancy symptoms. I thought that with my 3rd trimester I would be hit with extreme fatigue, but so far that has not come yet. I know that it will, but for now I am enjoying begin able to stay up past 8:00pm!

Due Date: August 28, 2012

Next Dr. Appointment: Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012 at 2:45pm

Daddy: This past week Jon was gone serving at our church's annual Children's Camp. Jon went as a leader and ended up being placed the 1st grade boys! Jon sent me text messages throughout the week about how camp was going and how I could pray for him and the kids. He also had the honor of being on the worship team. I am so thankful that Jon was able to take time to serve the children of our church in this way!!
