Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 16 weeks 3 days
Size of Baby Newsham: This week Jon informed me the our baby is not a fruit. So, let me switch gears for every man out there who is tired of hearing me compare my baby's size to fruit.
Our baby is the size of a small stud finder or 5 in, 5 oz. Is there better guys?

Maternity Clothes: This past Sunday at church a friend gave me an entire box of maternity clothes! This gift was such an answer to my prayers, because I've been asking God to provide maternity clothes for me. These clothes were all just the right size and fit me perfectly! I still don't need to wear maternity clothes, but when my baby belly finally shows up, I will be ready for it. If you would like to read more about this, click here.

Gender: In just 10 days we will have our ultrasound that will reveal to us the gender of our baby!! Please pray that our baby moves around into just the right position so that we can know whether or not we are having a boy or a girl.
Names: Again, I just don't want to announce names until we know whether or not we are having a boy or a girl. I will tell you more about that later.
Getting Ready: This week we haven't really done anything to get ready for the baby. Thursday, March 15th was my birthday and so we've taken a little break from planning, cleaning, and organizing.
Movement: This week, when I'm sitting down watching a movie or TV, I have been trying to study my body to see whether or not I can feel the baby move. Wednesday night, March 14th, I was pretty certain that I could feel our baby move. However, I don't know what it feels like to have the baby move, so there is a chance that it wasn't the baby. I am excited for the coming weeks and to be able to learn what our baby's movements feel like!
Sleep: This week I had some more weird dreams. However, this time it was Michael Phelps who came to hangout with me and Jon (I guess I have a secret thing for sports guys). Maybe Derek Jeter or Tim Tebow will be next?
I was not the only one in our home having weird dreams this week. Somehow I passed this symptom on to Jon too! The same night I was dreaming about Michael Phelps, Jon had a dream that he/himself cut off my legs and ate them for dessert! Jon said that he could not figure out how I would be able to take care of the baby without any legs! Isn't that gross!? I guess, we need to start watching what we eat before we go to bed.

What I Miss: What I miss is being able to sleep anyway I want. This week, I read about how I should avoid sleeping on my back. At first, I didn't think this would be a problem for me. However, all week the only sleeping position that has been comfortable for me is when I lay on my back. Please pray that I will find a position that is comfortable for me, especially as my body continues to grow and change.
Best Moment of the Week: There are so many amazing things that happened this week that I am not sure I can pick just one! For me, it's a tie between receiving maternity clothes and feeling the baby move. Both of these things were amazing and I am thankful for such amazing experiences!!
Food Cravings: Anything salty (Michelle you would be so proud of me)...chips, popcorn, cheddar cheese, crackers, and more!
Symptoms: Right now, I feel great! I feel so good that I had to ask Jon if he thought I was still pregnant. Praise the Lord for the second trimester!
Due Date: August 28, 2012
Next Dr. Appointment: Monday, March 26th, 2012 at 8:45am
Daddy: Jon is amazing. I realize that I say that every week, but it's true. This week Jon received approval to have March 26th off from work, which means that he will be able to come with me to my ultrasound and other doctor's appointments!! I am so thankful for this, because I was really nervous that he would have a flight at the same time as my ultrasound. I want us to be able to see our baby together!!
I took a few extra pictures of myself this week, so I hope you enjoy them!!

Not telling you what to do, but within my group of friends, we found that people are less likely to make comments on your name choice if it isn't announced until baby arrives. So if they don't like it, it's hard to say that don't like the name when you say "here is xyz!" but if you say "we think we will name him xyz" they start picking it to pieces. We told everyone we were having a boy, but NO budging on letting the name slip :)
YAY! SO FUN!
I am fully convinced that guys can have the pregnancy symptoms too! Shaun, my husband, started having heartburn the same week as me AND He had an insane dream, when he usually has very calm dreams IF he dreams at all! So weird.
I would like to make an addition to something Helen said. I don't disagree, but it's the way you present it. If you say, "We THINK..." that leaves room for people to give opinions. But if you say something more like.."and we have decided for sure!" then people will be less likely to give their own opinion!
Just thoughts :)
