Pregnancy Highlights: 12 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 12 weeks 3 days

Size of Baby Newsham: Our baby is as big as a peach or 3in long.

Maternity Clothes: No maternity clothes yet, but when my stomach is full my smaller jeans feel tight.

Gender: Even though our baby's gender has already been decided we won't find out until sometime in late March or early April.

Names: I'm still not ready to share the our names yet, because we have not come to a decision on middle names.

Getting Ready: This month, Jon and I are going to try as reevaluate our budget, so that we can begin planning for our little one's arrival. We are going to have some added expenses in these next coming months and are praying that God will continue to provide for us as He always does!

Movement: Apparently, our baby is developing reflexes this week which is cool! My email update from BabyCenter said that if I poke my stomach our baby will move in response. I still cannot feel those movements, but I am looking forward to the day that I do!

Sleep: I am still sleeping a lot, but I am looking forward to getting some of my energy back in my second trimester!

What I Miss: I miss having enough energy to keep my house clean, make dinner, and spend time with Jon. It's been so frustrating that I do not have energy to do the laundry and other things like that. However, I am trying to lower my expectations and simply focus on taking care of myself and our baby.

Best Moment of the Week: The best moment this week was when I read Baby Newsham his/her very first Elephant and Piggie book!! Normally, I go walking on my lunch break, but the weather this week has been cold and rainy. So, one day while I was inside eating my lunch, I was inspired to read, "I Am Invited to a Party" to our baby. This is the only Elephant and Piggie book that I have in my office, but don't worry it will be the first of MANY that our baby will hear on a regular basis!!

Food Cravings: Right now, I am craving cheese, specifically cheddar. I want white cheddar flavored chips and rice cakes. I also want cheddar cheese and crackers. I cannot seem to get enough of it.

Symptoms: The two most obvious pregnancy symptoms I have are extreme fatigue and frequently need to run to the bathroom. I get up at least once a night to go pee, which is annoying, but I cannot help it.

Due Date: August 28, 2012

Next Dr. Appointment: Monday, February 20, 2012 at 9:45am

Daddy: Jon is great! Earlier this week, Jon asked me if we could set aside time together each day, so that we can pray for our baby. We've been praying for our baby on our own, but I am looking forward to praying for our child together!

I love the baby prayer sessions! How sweet! And reading to the baby. :) What a great way to keep yourself centered and calm.

You mentioned you're craving cheese - it got me wondering if you're having some calcium and/or magnesium deficiency. (Not that I think it's dangerous or anything, but when people truly crave a certain food, even pregnant ladies, it usually means they are lacking something that their body associates with that food.)

I never told you how proud I am that you are already reading to your baby, and such great books too! :) So proud. So happy! Don't worry, I'll be a happy supplier of quality books.
