I am just fine.

I just wanted to let all of you wonderful people who have been praying for me know that I am fine. I went to the doctor and after a series of routine tests he told us that what is in my eye is simply extra pigment. He took a picture of it and told me that I would need to come back in two years to make sure that it is not growing, but as far as he was concerned everything looked great

Thank you again for all of your prayers. We love you all and miss you!!

God Bless.

Not to Scare You....but We Need Prayer.

Hello Wonderful People Whom We Right To On Our Blog Because We Can't See You In Person...

Now I have been thinking all weekend about whether or not I want to write this blog. And because most of our support system is spread across most of this great country I am going to let you in on what is going on so that we can receive much needed prayer. But before we get to the real reason behind why we need prayer let me start at the beginning.

Several weeks ago I went to the DMV to get my Texas driver's license (it was extremely sad). When I was taking the routine eye exam that they administer I was unable to see even the top line with the biggest letters on it. Finally I was able to make out some of the letters and so the woman issued me my driver's license however I was strongly advised to go to the eye doctor for a check-up. So we waited until after the first of the year when Jon and I would have insurance through the Olive Garden.

So I called around and made an appointment with on of the eye doctor's at the Super Wal-mart whom I was recommended too. I went there alone, because Jon and I have such crazy schedules. Now you have to remember that I have not been to the eye doctor in a LONG time. At the eye doctor everything was normal and I was so excited to be able to finally get a prescription for glasses so that I could see!

Now here is the bad part... while I was in with the doctor and he looked in my eyes to exam each of them individually he found something that did not belong. You see he explained that there is a mass in my right eye that is not supposed to be there. He said that it could simply be extra pigment that has been there my entire life or it could be something as serious as a tumor. I have to tell you that I was scared. He told me I needed to see an opthamologist as soon as possible. I asked if I could wait a week, because I wanted Jon to come with me and he said that a week was too long.

One of the nurses in the doctor's office called the opthamologist in town and set up an appointment for me this Monday at 1:45 pm. Jon was thankfully able to get out of his class during that time so that he could come with me. I was extremely upset Thursday simply from fear of the unknown. I talked to my Mom and we called Jon's Dad who prayed for us and was very encouraging. Should I be worrying? No, I serve a God who is bigger then me and anything in my eye. I know that He has a plan. But I also have learned that one of the main ways God works is through His people and I ask you to please pray for Jon and I tomorrow.

I know that come tomorrow I will be nervous and I just want prayer for my nerves to stay under control. I also ask that you pray for healing. If this is something like I tumor please pray for divine healing. I will keep you updated, but I suppose this is a bit more selfish and I always feel better knowing that others are praying for my situation other then Jon and I.

Thank you so much for your prayers. And thank you to those who already know and are already praying and coming before the Lord on our behalf. We love you all and just wish that we could be with you.

2008 has been good so far...

Well 2008 has started off better then we thought. Michelle was here with us until January 4th. We took her to Dallas so that she could catch her flight. It was hard to say good-bye, but it was even better to have her with us for Christmas. We are going to see her again this summer, so we have something to look forward to which is always nice.

Jon started classes at LeTourneau again this past Tuesday. He is looking forward to another semester at school. He is taking 18 credits this semester. And he is going to continue to work at the Olive Garden. It was nice to have a break, but I know that Jon is looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

I am still working at Old Navy and in the process of trying to find a full-time job. I have applied for a few jobs, but I have not heard anything from anyone yet, but I will keep you informed.

Jon and I also bought tickets today to fly to California to spend time with Jon's family for Spring Break. We have not seen them in over a year and we cannot wait to get to go and visit with them. Well that's the latest. We love you all and hope your year is starting off well. Miss you all!!

P.S. My brother Kyle got engaged over break as well!! It is really exciting!! His future wife's name is Teresa and we are so excited to have her become apart of our family!

Christmas 2007

So here are some of our pictures from our Christmas break this year. As many of you know Michelle McMartin came to visit us and spend about a week and a half with us. We baked and cooked a lot!! It was so much fun!! Jon did have to work quite a bit, but we had fun playing Settlers and Monopoly. We wish we could have seen our families for Christmas, but I think God knew that we just needed some rest with a very special lady who cares enough about us that she did not go and visit her own family this Christmas. We love you all and hope you had holidays that we just as good as ours. And we also hope that you have an amazing 2008!!
